Adding PomPoms to Knitting

Many people like to add pompoms to their hats, scarves, gloves and mittens, socks, and many more items. Making pompoms is not a hard task, and there are many ways to simply create one. In this blog, I will explain a few ways of how to make a pompom. The first ways is by using a ruler or two fingers, which may not be the best because the yarn can start to be too tight around the fingers. Wrap yarn around a ruler, and the less amount of wraps results in a smaller pompom. To detach from the ball of yarn, cut the string. Then, slide the yarn off the ruler and tie the middle with another piece of yarn. Cut the loops on both sides of the pompom to open the ends. To make it look like a pompom, press the middle of both sides down. The next way is uses two cylinder objects, wooden pencils or regular pens, and a base. Take the base, a regular-sized, rectangle of cardboard, and glue the cylinder objects to it. Make sure that if using pencils or pens the tips are pointing up. The farther away the cylinder objects are glued from each other the bigger. Then, wrap the yarn around the cylinder objects. Finally, take a small piece of yarn and tie it around the center of the wraps. Cut the excess, and detach from the cylinder objects. Finally, cut the loops again, and repeat the process of pressing it in the middle. I hope this blog helped my fellow knitters and viewers learn how to make pompoms if he/she wants to add it to their knitted items.
